Experience:

I am currently working with Pod Point Ltd. It was my passion to work for a company aligned with the goal of net zero transportation with the company credo being “Travel shouldn’t damage the Earth” it was a match made in heaven. Recruited to help a young company create and develop a Strategy, Process, Design Delivery and Technical Installation standard for EV Charging projects. I have well and truly embraced this challenge and taken on a varied number of roles during my employment and have been responsible for Project Overview from Feasibility Studies to Bid Proposals to Creating Design documentation to Procurement and Installation Monitoring. I have created Templates, Design processes as well as QA procedures and evaluated new electrical components and technology for implementation.

I have also been responsible for creating a Principal Designer and Principal Contractor Strategy that include Costings, Bid Proposals, Business Development as well as documentation for CDM 2015 compliance which includes Pre-Construction Information, Design Risk Assessments, Health, and Safety Files.

I am part of the Leadership Group. Voicing, pitching and advocating improvements and critical analysis of strategy and planning. I lead a Design Delivery Team, my responsibilities include performing or delegating, feasibility studies, bid proposals, training of electrical estimators on the selection of electrical components and cables as well as Design Specifications, Scheduling, Costings, Sub Contractor appointment, Contractual review, LV and control schematics, Max Demand calcs, Cable calculations, CAD layout drawings, Feeder pillar elevations, Technical Specification, Integration of PV Systems with EV chargers, Integrations of EV chargers with BESS, Battery Sizing, DNO notifications and approvals, Installation monitoring, services co-ordinations, liaising with IDNO’s, ICP’s, Installers, Surveyors and Client meetings. I am responsible for overseeing design and installation operations as well as performing Post Project Reviews. I proudly mentor Junior Engineers and help in developing their technical knowledge.

Senior Electrical Engineer-Tate Consulting

I was previously working with Tate Consulting. It gave me the opportunity to work on local projects including high specification residential buildings. My responsibilities included design specifications, scheduling, cost, control schematics, Max Demand calcs, Lighting calcs, Lighting design, Security, Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarm Layouts, Access Control, External Services, Apartment Layouts Technical Specification, construction monitoring, services co-ordinations and client facing. I was also responsible for mentoring junior engineers and developing their technical knowledge.

Senior Electrical Engineer-AECOM

Due to the global mobility opportunities, I decided to join AECOM. AECOM has a worldwide reputation of being a market leader. Working for AECOM I have been exposed to mega projects in Hospitality, Education, Residential, Theme parks and Airports in the Middle East and different regions of the world. Projects of note were Sea World Abu Dhabi, Warner Brothers Rosewood Hotel etc. I have been operating as a client facing liaison on nearly all the projects I have worked on. I have also picked up additional financial management skills during my employment.

Electrical Design Engineer-AURECON

My former employer from Rickard Green Engineering sent me an unexpected job offer of continuing my career in Building Services in New Zealand. Due to my ambitious nature, it was an opportunity I couldn’t refuse. I have worked in a variety of projects since joining Aurecon which included living and working in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The multibillion-dollar projects include, Motion Gate-Dubai, Raffles Hotel-KSA, PGC Barracks-Abu Dhabi etc. My responsibilities included design specifications, scheduling, cost, control schematics, Max Demand calcs, Lighting calcs, Lighting design, Security, Emergency Lighting, Technical Specification, construction monitoring, services co-ordinations and client facing.

Junior Engineer- Rickard-Green Engineering, Sheffield

As a fresh graduate I was initially recruited by Rickard Green Engineering in Sheffield. This was an amazing opportunity to learn and develop a good engineering base and gain knowledge of BS7671. I was thrown in at the deep end with immediate contributions to projects which included Orton Shopping Centre Peterborough, Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield Teaching Hospital, and some residential projects in Doncaster. As part of my training, I was also asked to gain site experience in which I acted as Electrician’s assistance on the Orton Shopping Centre project. It provided to be an invaluable experience as it gave me exposure to installation difficulties and how to design efficiently to allow ease of installation.
